BRUSH CHIPPING
How often does the City chip brush? Brush chipping is a daily operation for the Cleveland Public Works Department. Not only do we chip all the brush that is picked up by the Solid Waste crews, but we are also contracted to chip brush for Athens, Collegedale, East Ridge, Signal Mountain, and Sweetwater.
How much brush do we chip? From July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 our chipper processed 4,315.85 tons of brush. 1,269.20 tons of that brush came from the City of Cleveland.
How do I get my brush picked up? Brush is picked up twice monthly in accordance with the Public Works Route System. Brush must be placed at the curb by 7:00 A.M. on your scheduled pick up day, and may be placed on the curb up to 48 hours prior to your pick up date. In ordered for your brush to be picked up it must be no more than 7” in diameter and no more than 7 feet in length. Brush must be free of debris with no stumps or trunks included.
