LETTER FROM THE CHIEF
Welcome to the official web site of the Cleveland Police Department. Thank you for taking the time to check us out. We appreciate it. I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as Chief of Police for the City of Cleveland. Some of the finest people in the world live right here in our city. Cleveland is a world class place to be. I am pleased and proud to tell you that we have some of the most qualified and dedicated officers in the world. We have 92 officers, 26 civilian employees, and some 40 volunteers who make up the Cleveland Police Department. These are the people who have made an all out commitment to protect and serve the 38,000 people of our community. Under my administration I want to assure you that our citizens will be treated with respect and courtesy by every member of our Department. Further, we will be proactive and progressive in preventing crime. There will be no compromise for criminal behavior; and with the relentless prosecution of criminals this Department will enforce the law without fear or favor. It is exciting to be a part of a growing and prosperous city like Cleveland. I am asking you to please join with your Police Department in doing everything possible to make our city a better and safer place to live. We need and desire your help.
