Lost & Found
Due to the high volume of lost and found animals, the Animal Control Division is not able to keep up with a list of lost animals. Whenever you lose your pet you may check our website at www.Petfinder.com to see if it has been found and brought to us. But please do not rely solely on what you see.
While owners have identified their animals based on the photographs, many times their lost and frightened companions may not be easily recognizable. Unfortunately, some animals may even be too sick or injured to be placed on the website.
If you lose your dog/puppy, cat/kitten:
- We strongly recommend you come to the division every day to see if your pet is here, as our division receives numerous dogs and cats daily. Make sure you do a thorough walk through the entire kennel area, to see if your pet is here.
- If you do not see your pet in any of the kennel cages, ask an employee if they would check the restricted areas for you. It is very import that you come and look for your pet daily.
- Check pictures of pets on the bulletin board in the kennel office for lost and found.
- Check the division’s website on www.Petfinder.com for photos of your pet every day.
Please note there is set fees for all animals at the Animal Control Division. Review the fee schedule for applicable fees. Owners must bring their pet’s rabies certificate to pick up their pet. If the rabies certificate is not available, the pet will not be released until the rabies shot is obtained.
Before leaving the division:
Leave a “Lost/found Pet” color flyer with your contact information and the description and color photo of your lost/found pet in the kennel office to post on the bulletin board. However, do not depend on the flyers. It is your responsibility to visit the division and website daily. It is highly recommended that you search other lost and found websites, such as www.craigslist.com, The Cleveland Daily Banner, Tennessee Trader, and Petfinder.com
If you find a stray animal in Bradley County or Cleveland City:
- Stray animals can be brought to the Cleveland Animal Control Division located at 360 Hill Street, SE, Cleveland, TN 37311
