Vicious / Dangerous Dogs
Vicious/dangerous dogs are reported to the Animal Control Division for investigation by calling (423) 479-2122 and selecting option 2. The complainant must leave their information and cannot remain anonymous. Complainants must furnish an address for the dog involved in the attack.
Please note that a dog that attacked a nondomestic animal, for instance a duck or squirrel, cannot be declared vicious/dangerous.
An owner, whose dog has been declared vicious/dangerous inside the city, may have to move the dog outside the city limits. See City Ordinance on Vicious Dogs.
The dog owner must supply:
- Proof of current rabies vaccination
- Proper confinement/enclosure for the animal
- Post signs at all entry points to the property advising both children and adults alike that a dangerous dog is on the property
If you suffered a bite from a dog, please call and report it to the Animal Control Division at (423) 479-2122, select option 2, and the Bradley County Health Department at (423) 728-7020 ext. 110 or 168.
